The Friends of the Cathedral has been an active and supportive group for over a century, and contributes to a variety of programs and initiative around the St. John the Divine.
Our History
The construction of the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine, like its European predecessors, inevitably became a community effort, integral to its completion.
President’s Message
“Friends of the Cathedral” is not new or unique as names go – there are dozens of “friends” organizations attached to great cathedrals around the world. We chose it because it is clear and straightforward, and hopefully makes clear that anyone who loves the Cathedral of St. John the Divine is welcome as a member whether they live in Harlem in New York or Haarlem in the Netherlands”
